How this is calculated
  • Coverage hours per day = census × target HPRD.
  • Staff needed per day = coverage hours ÷ shift length, rounded up.
  • Shifts per day = 24 ÷ shift length, rounded to the nearest whole number (at least 1).
  • Staff per shift = staff needed per day ÷ shifts per day, rounded up.
  • Total HPRD is the sum of the role HPRDs. Roles with an HPRD of 0 are skipped.
